Spring Break 2017

Day 1; March 11, 2017: On Saturday we had a barbecue because someone left the freezer door open all day a few days before. I woke up early on Saturday so I could go to the store with my mom and help clean. We spent the early afternoon cleaning the house for our guest; my aunt and her husband, as well as a couple of my dad's friends. I decided to make a cookie brownie for dessert. While waiting for my dad's friends to get here my mom decided to make a bonfire. We are and sat around the bonfire until 10 o'clock.

Day 2; March 12, 2017: On Sunday we woke up early again because my cousins were coming over for brunch. We had eggs, waffles, croissants, and more. After they left, we relaxed around the house and caught up on the sleep we lost from the time change and waking up early.

Day 3; March 13, 2017: The next day we had another busy day. We visited my grandma. We went out for lunch at a seafood restaurant. The waitress was surprised I was able to eat two small shrimp tacos and broccoli. After we finished at the restaurant we went back to my grandma's apartment. She made a chocolate lava mug cake.

Day 4&5; March 14&15, 2017: Tuesday we had a relaxing day at the house. Wednesday we went to a baseball game. Before going to the game, we went out to eat at the restaurant First Watch. At the game they were handing out free foam baseball bats and balls to the kids. Somehow I ended up with one even though I'm 18. The weather started out cold then it warmed up. We eventually ended up in the shade so it ended up getting cold again.

Day 6; March 16, 2017: My family and I woke up at about six in the morning to drive two hours to SeaWorld. The first thing we did was get coffee. Then go pet the stingrays. I usually love going on roller coaster but that day I only went on one, Kraken. After my mom and I went on Kraken we ate lunch at Sharks Underwater Grill. For the rest of the day we ended up just looking at other animals such as, penguins, sea lions, dolphins, and more.

Running a 5k

On Saturday, February 25, I ran a 5k. A 5k is 3 miles. Last year I ran 3 mile in 50 minutes. This year I wanted to beat that time. I did by three minutes. I woke up a 8 in the morning to get ready to run. My group didn't start running until about 9:20. About a mile in the sun came out for a few minutes. Last year I got tired about half a mile in. I barely trained last year. This year I trained a little bit more, so I didn't get tired until over a mile and a half. When there is a fourth of a mile left of the second mile you have to turn around. A the turn around there are people holding out donuts. I didn't take any though. On the third mile I started to feel sick. Unfortunately the sun decided to come out as well. Luckily I made it across the finish line before getting sick. I hope next year I will do even better. I just have to train more. Maybe next year I will be able to do the 8k(5miles) as well.

2017 Resolutions

Every year we make new year resolutions and every year most of us fail them within a few days. I didn't make any resolutions last year but I decided to make some this year.

1. Run at least two miles three days a week. Currently all I can run is two miles but I'm slowly working my way up to longer runs.
2. Read at least one book every month. For the past two years I've been trying to read one book every month. I feel like this year I will  complete the challenge.
3. Take my blog more seriously. I typically write posts in one day. I want to spend more time on my posts to make sure everything is spelled correctly and the grammar is not atrocious.
4. Learn to play my ukulele. On Christmas morning (more like afternoon) I open a present and inside was a ukulele in it. I've had it for a month now and have only played it a handful of times.
5. Read more posts from other bloggers. I don't actually read any other blogs. I want to read other blogs to see how I should improve my blog so more people will want to read my blog.

What I got for Christmas 2016

I got many things for Christmas and love every present I got. Here are ten of my favorite gifts I got.

1. Two throw blankets. They are the softest blankets ever.

2. A cat pillow. I wasn't expecting to get this, but it's so cute.

3. A wooden cat puzzle box.

4. A ukulele. I wasn't expecting to get a ukulele either. I'm excited to learn how to play.

5. Spray on nail polish. I've seen mixed reviews about spray on nail polish so I'm happy I receive some to test out.
6. "Secret Sisters" by Jayne Ann Krentz. This year I've been getting into reading so I'm thrilled to read it.
7. A cat selfie calendar for 2017. I love cat selfies.
8. A bar of soap with one of my birthstones in it that my mom bought me in Houston. I actually received this early because my new puppy chewed the wrapping off of the soap.
9. I received lots of makeup.
10. A new pair of cute running shoes.

A week in Houston

Saturday and Sunday before Thanksgiving my parents and I drove for about 16 hours to Huston, Texas to visit my uncle. On Saturday we drove for about 10 hours before stopping in Gulfport, Mississippi.
During the drive we went through a tunnel in Alabama and stopped at a Sandhill crane sanctuary for a few minutes in Mississippi. On Sunday we drove about 6 more hours to Houston, Texas.

On Monday, we went to a park called Discovery Green. My dad wanted to find this building he took a picture of about 30 years ago. We eventually found it. It was at a place call Sam Houston Park. It has historical buildings. Unfortunately we couldn't go inside them because they don't do tours on Mondays, but we could walk around the outside of them. The last thing we did that day was go to the Downtown Aquarium. I got to pet and feed some stingrays there.

Tuesday, we went to the Johnson space center. That was the one place I really wanted to go to. At the Johnson space center we got to ride on one of the two trams. We didn't have time for the other one. The space center has a replica Boeing 747 shuttle aircraft that we could walk through. We got to see things that were in space and replicas of thing that were in space. There was so much to do there that we didn't get to see everything because my sister was flying in for Thanksgiving.

The next day, we drove down to Galveston after having breakfast at Humble City Café. It was a really cute café.We spent to day at Pleasure Pier. I went on Rock N Roll, Sky Shooter, the Carousel, and Texas Star Flyer. Rock N Roll  was probably my favorite because it unexpectedly goes backwards. I really enjoyed to view from the Texas Star Flyer. The Iron Shark Rollercoaster is probably the only rollercoaster I will durn down without going on it first. I love rollercoasters but not ones that go straight up.

Thursday we had a relaxing day at my Uncle's house. Our last day in Houston was Friday. We went to a small town with shops outside of Houston. They had a lot of Black Friday sales. In one shop they were selling puppies. Another had free kittens. Unfortunately we couldn't get any animals because the puppies were really expensive, and we already have three cats. A lot of the shops had a lot of cute clothes and other cool things that I could have spent all my money on.
